You...Can....Rent it.....For free.....For.....An hour....Each day.

Life is good. God is good.

School->library->piano->studying->home->food->lazy mode->piano->(optional studying)->lazy mode->sleep.

Owhhh yeahhhhh. Now that's what I'm talking about.

Cool, so you can increase your practice time now ( if I remember correctly you had restrictions at home) !
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.

That's correct Sir.

Remarkable day today: I was able to practise four different pieces without rushing through them. I actually learned a bit from them as well. The little prelude 3 is very beautiful if I might say so.

I hope you are doing well David. With practise/children/grandchildren/partner.

What kind is it?  Brand/model?  Yamaha, I'm guessing.  Acoustic with headphones though?  Does it have a pedal to move the hammers or something?

It's a Yamaha (not a very tall model, I would say if tall is tall, and small is small, this one is in between) and the action isn't very amazing. I prefer my cheaper acoustic at home. And when you play multiple chords it sounds unnatural with the headphones.

It does have a pedal. Thing is, they built in a sound system I think. Playing without headphones would disturb visitors who are studying/reading books in the library, so it's understandable.

In spite of all that, it does what it does; practise practise practise. I'll take a picture next time and post it here. Hopefully that will be tomorrow.

Thanks for commenting ! Yes everyone is great in my family. I on the other hand just got out of the hospital, went in with heart attack symptoms. I have been going down hill this summer and it's now pointing more and more to a wheat intolerance if not out and out celiac. Which is a good thing because the fix is easy. I'm on the diet now ( we were maybe 50% gluten free here anyway because three of my kids have this). Today is not even a remote representation of how Monday was, only 4 days into the gluten free eating. It's looking very hopeful. Every test I've had for everything else this summer and into the fall has come up negative , yet I couldn't walk half a mile without a major slow down and gasping for air, tight chest. Had to stop riding the bike all together, could barely make 10:30 am at work. Today that is gone. I passed the stress test in the hospital, so they sent me home. I've put myself on the diet. The neurologist ordered the blood test for celiac.

Scared my family half to death, not to mention myself !! Now to just get my rhythm back, I've been messed up on rhythm and tempo at the piano since I got home. I listened to that damned clock in the hospital cubical and put my piece I'm practicing in rhythm to that and now I'm having trouble picking up the tempo. I guess my head is scrambled a bit, it was quite a scare.

I think I should be avoiding gluten as well - shifted to a diet low on gluten (not totally excluding, though) some months ago and it did really well for my health. Wheat is ridiculously overused in our society.

Thank you bronnestam !

This problem has been in our family for a while, my mid daughter nearly died from it. She went catatonic and they were treating her for seizures. She spent a month in a Boston hospital and they had her basically down as a nut case with a nervous breakdown. It wasn't that, it wasn't seizures either. Her husband is a paramedic and urged her to go get tested and start the celiac diet. She did both and inside of a year she was off all seizure meds etc. etc. living a perfectly normal life. The thing about it, getting a positive blood test can be very elusive and in the end the only cure is to change the diet anyway. In her case, she can not have any gluten, and I mean 0 gluten. One slice of bread and she will be on the floor. She has full blown celiac and so does my youngest daughter, who bleeds out her rear end when on gluten and not when she is not.

Doctors are in denial over this but neurologists are starting to come on board. You can go to Celiac.com and read the stories of people misdiagnosed. I can't tell you how many doctors I've questioned if my symptoms could be gluten/wheat/celiac. I explain the whole daughter story and they just shrug their shoulders. One said never mind them lets talk about you ! I thought I was, especially since those two daughters are from two different marriages. So I put myself on the diet. This morning I had Cheerie O's, not seeing anything about wheat on the label. Right now my stomach chest pain is back but much lighter than before. My daughter told me those are highly gluten Dad. Great, well I have a gut ache today then !

Here is the rub. Today wheat is over processed, it's getting tough for anyone to digest it well or fully. So, many people are coming up with a sensitivity and reactions. They will never test positive for Celiac. The blood test can be inconclusive even if you have celiac, the only sure test is a colonoscopy and get a tissue sample but you have to be on gluten to test positive even then ( my daughters went through all of this). So considering my situation, I'm just plain staying away from gluten/wheat, I've had the blood test and that will either come up positive or negative ( takes about a week to get back) but I don't care which, as I will just stay on the diet..

If you feel better off the wheat products you took yourself off of that's wonderful ! Be careful and do a lot of reading on this subject. You just may go the rest of the way. If you do, read all labels and watch for hidden clues that don't exactly say this product contains wheat. It's in so many things and now there are so many better alternatives on the market. That wasn't the case when my mid daughter started on the diet, gluten free sucked then, it's pretty darned good now.

I'll see , it's early yet but as I said it is looking hopeful in my case and at least I got fully checked out for heart disease and they found non.
