Prokofiev's piano sonata 7
on: October 06, 2013, 03:26:25 PM
Hi!
I would share with you a video I made with a (pretty) pianist, friend of mine, Julie Noiret. This is the first movement of the seventh sonata of Prokofiev. We are both students in the Royal Conservatoire of Liège, in Belgium.
I must confess the sound recording is not that good, and I hope we'll find some money to make a great recording of the last two movements.
Thanks, Lago.

Very well-made video and a fine performance from your friend!

I'm curious, did you record the audio separately and then sync it with the video? Or is this the audio from the built-in mic on your camera?

Thanks ;) Well, for several reasons, I had to use to sound I recorded with the camera (wich is actually not very good), but I didn't use each time the "direct" sound. So I had to synchronise the sound and the image after, wich was quite boring  ;D

Great playing. Your friend should be very proud of that. I can't go into detail about what I liked or not because I never heard this piece before and am not knowledgeable at all on music from this particular era. It 'feels' right though.

Also, like said before, the camera work adds a new dimension. At times I had the idea I was watching a Lars von Trier short film....
