New Piano Composition in E Minor

I would welcome comments, in particular on how the music works with the pictures. It is my first attempt of this kind. Thank you in advance

It was ok. For me, the piece lacked development. I didn't really make a connection between the pictures and the music.
I don't think a good piece needs pictures to sell its musical content.

ok thanks for your comment. I am a big fan of film music. I believe the combination music-video, if well made, is incredibly powerful. In this case I used photos and I probably didn't manage to achieve my goal.

I think music, if well-made, is incredibly powerful.
The more it has to lean on anything external, the less inherently powerful it is.

Write some music first with no pictures in mind. Make it as powerful as you want. Make it as close to perfect as possible. If you feel the need to add pictures after that. Then do it.
I agree with awesom
You don't need pictures or video to have it be powerful. I'm gonna sound a little sissy here, but I have cried in public 3 times after the age of 9
All three were music related.
Rach 3 with olga kern got me to tears
Beethoven a 7th is a guaranteed tear jerker for me
And I'll leave the third one out incase they are on here, but a certain performance I went to got me to tears.
These were all live concerts

Thanks for the comment, Cabbynum. For me it must be Tchaikovsky's final movement of the 6Th symphony!
Anyway in my case the music was written independently from the photos, and this is perhaps why awesom_o couldn't see the connection. I recently started a channel on youtube and thought that it might help if I adapt to the "visuality" of it. I can't say I felt the need to do that.
As for how to write music, inspiration can come different ways, and certainly a photo or a film it is one. This can give the spark for the initial idea of a composition. After that there is a loft of craftmanship involved. Some of morricone's music reaches the highest quality even if it has been written to accompany a movie.

I've written 4 works that I can say I'm truly proud of. I won an ward for one of them and only a few people have heard the other 3
The one I won the ward for started as arpeggios of chords and then turned into a 3 movement sonata lasting about 24 ish minutes.
I get my inspiration from what I hear everyday in my head, then I go write it down. Some of it takes off and others fall apart completely. I haven't ever thought of putting any of it to anything visual

I only have the audio on a CD and actually don't wanna upload that recordig because I was pretty sloppy. Sooner or later I'll get around to uploading it. But not for a little while.
On YouTube I have a video of me improvising on a Scriabin impromptu
Search "cabbynum scribin" I misspelled his name I know

I can see myself at your age. I could go on for hours on some ideas, experimenting and trying new ideas (I was also overusing the pedal). Very well done considering you have played for only 2 years! I had already done 12 years at your age. Is it based on impromptu n.2?

Very kind of you, I am really happy you like what I do. Unfortunately I haven't. I have always found very boring to write down the music, plus there is an element of improvisation on all my compositions. However I think that in the next few months I will go through this task (maybe learning to use sibelius), since you are not the first to ask. Many thanks again.

What to say, add me to the list: I would love to have the music sheet. I loved it as well as I love "gliding". That music is such a musical journey, in terms of modulations, variations, thematic changes (I tried to play on my piano but it is difficult without music sheet). I have been composing for a while but don't feel that confident. I know I have to improve and I am getting even more determined and inspired now. Thanks for uploading your work.
