Haunting Melody
on: October 12, 2013, 09:40:02 PM
Hi Everyone! It's been awhile. I've been thinking about finding a print music publisher for my piano works. Thought "Haunting Melody" would be a good one to start with since it's not too difficult to play and it's been used on a Jessica Brown Findlay interview with Vanity Fair. Any ideas on print music publishers?

I can't be of much help, but I really liked the piece!
And congrats with the success you've had with it!

Thanks Cabbynum! Though I've had some success years ago with Alacran Press (though I don't believe they exist any longer), it's all new to me now.

Submitting some of my music to Peer Music. I have no idea if my music will be a good fit for their company. When I was studying music I used Schirmer and Kalmus editions. I think they only include the big guys like Beethoven, Chopin, etc...

There's an interesting lot of information on this on the
Boosey & Hawkes
website. Just remember to look at the left for the menu of different topics.

Nice to see you back John. I have always liked your music. You do not attempt to impress, do difficult things or embrace showmanship or the grotesque, but rather just follow the song within you, which philosophy is wholly admirable. I have often thought it well suited to films, and perhaps it is just a matter of time before the right ears hear it. I cannot advise you about publication as I have never attempted that. Good luck anyway.
