Some help with books?
on: October 14, 2013, 05:58:49 PM
Hey guys,
I took some piano classes around 2-3 years ago for a period of 1-1.5 years, then had to stop because of college. I'm a med-student, and I really wanna get back into it. Sadly, time constraints of medicine force me to go into self-teaching.
When I took classes, I was taught with the Alfred's Adult Piano course (3 books), I completed around 2-2.5 books. Then I kinda really reduced my practice due to pressure etc so you could say that in a sense I am starting all over again.
I need some novelty to keep me going or I'll won't feel like it so, I wanted to ask a few experts for their advice on some good books I can use? You can think of me as an older beginner. I am good still good enough at playing, but my notation reading has gone down the drain.

This John Thompson, Piano Adventures etc etc I have been googling the past few days has got me confused. Needed some clarity.

Why not go back to the Alfred books you were using before?
Pick a page you can play comfortably and go from there.
"Piano Devotions For Little Fingers" Book/CD
