ALKAN - Chemin de fer Op.27 [End cut]

Hi,


Was trying to finish it. Yet as it takes kindof form. I'd like to share a take i recorded after warming up and playing it a few times.
Real version coming soon.
Hope you can still enjoy there are not much version of this piece on youtube.

Well that was quite something! Outstanding performance, IMHO. Your left-hand fingers must be tired after playing the locomotive in this one ;-)

If I was at your level and able to play this piece, I would maybe add more pauses between the "parts" (although I do not know the sheet music or Alkan's intentions), to make it easier to listen to.

what the fuarkking hell is your left hand doing at the opening section mannn?
it's like a spider going schizo, it's not meant to be like that!
What fingering are you using, it looks inefficient, you should stick with 1212 for the thumb, cos it gives it the bouncy motion for the wrist. 1321 is impossible, cos of the leap caused by the octave on the first beat. Or maybe it just looks weird from this angle lol...

It is supposed to be a musical picture of an early steam locomotive ('Le chemin de fer' means 'iron furnace') so I guess the factor of 'not doing exactly what you expect' might be of some importance here, as with all ancient machinery :D
