Need Help Playing An Unpopular Piece
on: October 17, 2013, 03:01:22 PM
First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to help me out.

Since this is my first post here on the site, I'll tell you a little about myself. My name is Mike and I have been dabbling in piano for a few months. I really know nothing in terms of piano as it is taught traditionally, I had a teacher for a few weeks but couldn't afford to keep him. So everything I have learned has been through mimicry and memory. I also know the very basics of reading sheet music. To give you an idea of my skill, I can play the beginning to Fur Elise, and I've almost cracked the Peanuts Theme Song (the hand movements get me every time!)

Anyways, I'm really hoping somebody can help me out with this song. I've wanted to play it for my family for a long time, but it is very unpopular and has no sheet music or tutorial anywhere that I can use. The song can be found here:

If anybody could help me out simply by giving me a place to start, I would greatly appreciate it. I also use Synthesia, so if anybody could make a midi that would be all I need.

Thanks again!

First off, don't try to learn from Synthesia. Seriously, it's not going to help you at all. Get good at reading sheet music. It's necessary to play the piano.

As for that song, I can guarantee you won't find sheet music for it. Your best bet is to just sound it out.

The beginning melody is Gb-F-Gb-F-Bb-Ab-Bb-Db-Gb-F-Gb-F-Gb

That should get you started
Working on:
Beethoven - Waldstein Sonata
Bach - C minor WTC I
Liszt - Liebestraume no. 3
Chopin - etude 25-12

I appreciate the advice! And thank you for the melody :)
