Ravel Le Gibet the "Bees" in the mean bars
on: October 20, 2013, 11:04:23 PM
Hi all,

I m new to this board but old at (amateurish) piano playing. First of all sorry for poor english...

I m just struggeling with Ravels Gibet, its lot fun :):):)

In the notorious bars the 1/16 Bb' s in my Durand edition have 3 Staccato dots; ( I'll try to add pics...),
but all pianists i checked on youtube tend to hit the Bb only twice

also in the second "mean" bar (toujours ppp) the first Bb (well its rather A sharp here) has 2 staccato dots, but nobody seems to play the second note.. If the second note is to be played, how would one play it, with ones nose tip??

hope I made my problem clear and looking forward to suggestions...

What I do is when I'm not playing a chord at the time, I just hit the b flat really quick.

However you do it won't be much of a difference though.
