Nicely played  :)

My main suggestion would be regarding the D octaves in the Right Hand. Each time they come up, there's a semiquaver rest if I remember correctly before each group of 7 notes, which isn't being observed, meaning the rest of the group aren't being articulated in time - it should be *rest*-ba-da-ba-da-ba-da-ba, if that makes sense!

Try taking it a touch slower, and really feel those rests as part of the music in their own right - they're just as important as the notes!

All the best for the recital!  Let us know how it goes!

Wow, you are right! Looked at the score and he was muffing that completely. I'll pass this on to him while there's still time to fix. Thank you!

Well played!

I second seb1982 regarding actually 'playing' the rests.

I think the rhythm was a bit rushed/unsteady in places.

I think it would be quite revealing if he were to try to play it without any pedal at all, making sure that the correct note values and rhythms are being represented in the sound throughout.

You may wish to wait until after the recital to try this.

So. . . recital was today with about 100 in the audience. Some improvement on the issues mentioned, I think, and it's always different in a performance situation. The Chopin Mazurka he started just three weeks ago went very well - if you listen to the clip please stick around for it! Thanks, all, for your feedback and community.

Yay!  ;D

World of difference!  Honestly!  More assured, more aggressive, more menacing; in short, much more storm-like!

*whispers* And nice octave semiquavers  ;)  I can tell he worked on those!

Do please pass on my congratulations!  :)
