Chopin prelude in C Minor Op.28 No.20 Cover
on: November 04, 2013, 03:31:38 PM
Greetings Everyone!
I am a self learning student who is in absolute awe of Classical music, i've never had a lesson in my life. I managed to play this beautiful prelude. Please spare a minute of your precious time and have a look at it.
Any suggestions/comments/criticism is welcome.
Thanks!

I think your overall idea of the spirit is okay.
I'm concerned that you rely upon the sustain pedal to 'produce' legato.
Legato has almost nothing at all to do with the sustain pedal.
You need to play the entire piece without touching the pedal whatsoever, at least 40-50 times.
Make sure that you do not play it through sounding exactly the same way those 40-50 times, you must each time improve the quality of tone from start to finish.
Once you've done that, it will really change your technique of pedaling. Your overall sound will become much better.
