Rachmaninoff's Prelude In C sharp minor- Cover(VIDEO)
on: November 08, 2013, 03:15:48 AM
Greetings all!
Hope all's well in your worlds. Well, I have recorded this prelude. I was so moved by the beauty of this composition that I had to touch this(even though i've never had a lesson in my life).

It'd be great if you could spare a minute and share your thoughts/suggestions about this:

Thanks!

This is the same one you posted 3 days ago. Did you mean to do an updated one?

Sorry - I didn't know you could replace vids in YT. I missed the first one and so was hoping to see the differences.

On the performance, It seems fine, though I feel the bass could resonate more. That may be a product of the recording or the piano, though.

My one big question, though, is where is the rest of it?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Well, yes the recording was just a take i did while messing around with my new phone lol but yes i agree the digital piano just doesnt do justice. And for the rest of it, i'd be needing some more time to practice, i thought why not do the main motif 'decently' first so that i dont mess up the whole piece.

Soon to come,
Thanks.

I think you are certainly ready to go on. The next bit is a bit more of a challenge, just remember to bring out the melody strongly. Start slowly and build up speed at a pace that allows you to maintain control.  I look forward to hearing it.

I never really feel the first A section in these ABA works can be fully understood until you've done the middle and (particularly) the recap. May be just me, though.
