Metronome

I wonder if anyone would care to recommend a good metronome. I'm looking to upgrade to something that is actually functional.

Thanks for any help offered.

i use an electronic "quiktime" metronome, but really not very often..I feel metronomes are pretty useless in most situations.  I only use it to check a very complicated rhythm sructure in a specific bar.  I was reading Josef Hofmann's book and he says you should never play piano pieces to a metronome as it makes them sound mechanical.

Something functional?  Get a cheap electronic one with flashing lights and adjustable volume.  Maybe $25 ..

Thanks for your help =)

Yeah, I don't really want to play through a piece with the metronome, I just want something to make sure I'm playing certain rhythms in fairly correct time.

Thanks again,

Michael.
