The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

Beautifully done. Bravo!

Articulate yet perfectly phrased, really super. I've been reading through both etude collections, (I have the Badura-Skoda edition) getting to know them. And improvising again, all inspired by your posts.

Re the CD: how can I get my hands on one? Would love to own one.

Thank you. This particular Etude took quite a bit of work... it was one of the last ones I learned from opus 10, in my second year of undergrad.

The Badura-Skoda edition is the best. I never actually owned it, but I got it out from the library a while ago. It contains some very good fingerings.

I will probably take orders for the CD myself over Paypal and ship them individually. :D

Keep improvising and studying Chopin!

Arrghh this etude is hell! It's so beautiful but a lot of work.
Congratulations! With each Chopin etude I hear you play the more impressed I get. I'll be sure to buy one of your CD's.

Thank you! My intention was to make each Etude seem like it was the most beautiful one.

This one is particularly devilish to play! Some of the modulations are unbelievably tricky!
