ATCL/ LTCL Programme Notes Help
on: November 27, 2013, 04:35:46 PM
Hello, I'm wondering if you all have any suggestions on where to obtain information (websites/ books) for writing programme notes? I have a list of pieces here where little or no information can be obtain in my local library. Appreciate much for all your replies!
The list of pieces are:
Balakirev - Skylark
Poulenc - Intermezzo in A flat
Beethoven - Piano Sonata In C Op. 2 No. 3

I don't know if the requirements are the same, but the Associated Board has a "Guide to writing programme notes" (for diplomas). There's a link to it on
this page

Check out the link above. He has stated out some important things while doing the programme notes.I just completed my programme notes few weeks ago. I searched the indormations from Google, and the two informative books named 'A history of keyboard literature' and 'A history of western music'.
