Canon in D (Pachelbel) - arranged by Brian Crain in C
on: November 28, 2013, 05:56:25 AM
Hi everyone:
It's been a long time since I posted but it's snowing a lot today and I thought I'd record a few of my favorite pieces. This piece is arranged by Brian Crain so I think of it as a modernized version of a lovely timeless piece.
Hope you'll enjoy it. Please feel free to post comment here and on my YT page.
Thanks for watching!

A very wistful and lovely performance! The balance between the hands is delicious. The melody sings like a bird.
You captured a mood of winter for me. Maybe the snow outside influenced you -summer seems so far away. You also captured for me, a more profound feeling -something timeless and captivating -The arrangement brings the Baroque into the present, and yet loses nothing of its spiritual qualities -but the bridge which joins us with our ancestors is crossed in this music. -you have shown us something very special and moving here. It is a joy to listen to!

Choo. This is one of my all time favorite pieces as well. It is so beautiful. And your performance of it is one of the most beautiful I have ever heard. It really moved me. You played with so much tenderness and emotion I was so drawn in to listening and enjoying the music. I could hear and see how you were so focused on the music and because of this the music was truly amazing! You showed no hesitation or tension anywhere! Great job my friend you have inspired me to go back and learn this. Beautiful!

Thanks, Emill. So good to hear from you. You're like family. All the very best to you and Enzo, too.
awesome_o: You're very observant and you ask a good question. I knew I was playing it in the key of C as Brian Crain arranged it that way. I'll change the title to reflect that.
