Beautiful moments in pieces that you find yourself constantly fast forwarding to
on: December 02, 2013, 10:20:50 PM
I'm looking for some new beautiful music so I've put in a few famouse pieces but the rest are relatively unknown(I'm cheating a bit because some are obviously not piano pieces but I know you won't mind
).
This brilliant rapid section of Rach 3 played brilliantly by Volodos
The ending of Prok 3 (26:12)
This section in Chopin's Grande Polonaise (4:09)
This moment in the extremely underplayed Concerto No. 1 by Saint Saens (5:40)
And the beautiful Yellow River Piano Concerto by Xian Xinghai played by Yundi Li at 15 (9:30)
Now for a few non-piano pieces (Do stick around they're pretty great)
An unbelievably powerful 11 part build-up from the 7th movement of Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil (1:00)
Ever heard of Georgy Sviridov? You have now! (2:25)
Another one by Sviridov (4:43)
In case you aren't convinced of Sviridov (2:20)
These are just a few of mine. I'd love to hear what you have to share!

Fast forward to? Good grief. As they say, you have to
earn
your Liebestod!
