Steady performance of the 1st chopin étude
on: December 11, 2013, 09:21:19 PM
I have been practicing this étude for years,at the tempo of 150-170.
Sometimes I make no mistakes at all, sometimes 3 to 5, sometimes more than 9...
Do you have some valuable experience to make your performance for steady or stable?

Slow it right down to the tempo in which you can make no mistakes at all!
Work on the left hand separately until you can play it alone without looking down at your hand.
Practice it hands together under tempo with zero pedal. Really work on making it sound musical without any pedal.
