double8 ... at Poulenc's Trois Noverettes No.2
on: November 14, 2004, 11:29:00 AM
Anyone can tell me what exactly means 'double8' at the bar 45 of Poulenc's Trois Novelettes No.2? My teacher insists it must be played with octave, however, the CD which is played by Tacconi who was a student of Poulenc, sounds it is played with single note and at '15ma'. Is there anyone who has learnt this piece and can tell me the solid interpretion please??

It is 15ma. Double8 means the notes in question have to played 2 octaves higher than the current pitch.
