For $1000?  Uh... you have lots of Euros to spend!  What's the purpose of the headphones?  iPod?  DP?

I'm curious to the suggestions as well.

So you're serious about spending that much currency on headphones?  I don't think I'd want to spend more than 150 euros on really good ones.  I'm interested in getting a DP and that's why I'd like to know the answer to this question.

The sound has to have very good low range and high range response with little to no feedback noise.

Ya, the Audio Technica ATH-M50's are rated very good by most reviewers. I own the 45's, bought those on closeout when the 50's came out and you absolutely would not imagine that you have headphones on regarding sound ( they are a bit heavy, so you know tyhey are on your head but they are great studio monitors). The sound sounds as though it's full room  surround or even concert hall. The bass is a tad weak on the 45's, still good but one has to understand that I run my sound system through a sub-woofer when playing live sound not through the head phones. But the 50's supposedly are better at bass sound. There is no distortion that I can recognize though.

Worth a try and far less expensive than 650 euros or what ever the OP said..
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.

So I read the reviews on Amazon and apparently they are amazing and all for less than $100 or 75 Euros.  That's cheap enough for me as I would have budgeted $200 for a really good pair.  Thanks for sharing!

Sure, once you use decent headphones and hear the realistic piano sounds that Kawai produces you will then battle to get the same sound from live speakers ! Maybe the built in ones are great on the Ca95 though. I get great sound from my system on the MP6 but it is not as real sounding as with the headphones. It's quite good, not the same though. Except the bass is stronger ( I actually tone down the bass with the EQ control on board. The MP6 has no speakers built in, it's a stage piano. Very powerful instrument though, just takes time to tweak in..

In my experience (which is considerable, as I used to review this kind of thing for magazines), you can't go wrong at any price point with Sennheiser. I've never heard a dud from that firm. Other brands that will happily take your money in that kind of price bracket:

Beyerdynamic - lots of good experiences with these, can't think of a downside.
Audio Technica - never really pressed my buttons but they are very well made and reliable. I find them a bit bass-heavy, especially the closed-back models (this also applies to many closed-back models from other makers, by the way, though maybe to a lesser extent) and they were never entirely comfortable on my head.
Grado - can sound very nice indeed but do check for comfort (over a minimum of 30 minutes) before parting with money. I've also had some quality control and durability concerns, with things like cables falling out.
Ultrasone - never got on with them and had a couple of random failures of review samples which didn't bode well, I felt.
Instrumentalists are all wannabe singers. Discuss.

Take Your Seat! Trifonov Plays Brahms in Berlin

“He has everything and more – tenderness and also the demonic element. I never heard anything like that,” as Martha Argerich once said of Daniil Trifonov. To celebrate the end of the year, the star pianist performs Johannes Brahms’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko on December 31. Piano Street’s members are invited to watch the livestream. Read more
