Learning or Performing-Which is better?
on: November 15, 2004, 09:05:46 AM
Although the challenge of learning a new piece is exciting, I prefer it when I have 'Mastered' it and can perform it. Just curious whether other people have the same opinion.

Basically, do you get bored of a piece once you can play it or do you enjoy it more?

As for me, there are some works that I feel like playing after a while, again and again. For example, Chopin's Polonaise Fantasie Op61 As-dur. The more I study, the more I learn. On the other hand, there are some works I don't play twice in public. It totally depends on the performer's preference, I guess... ::)
