on: January 03, 2014, 04:09:56 PM
Hi guys, I was just wondering which recording material you usually use,
or what you would recommend to me.
Currently working on:
Bach, WTC 1, c minor/d minor
Bortkiewicz, op 15 no 9
Chopin, op 25 no 1/ op 40 no 2
Ravel, sonatine
...

Are you referring to equipment used to record yourself?
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Portable flash recorders have become used with more frequency in recent years.  A few examples are the Zoom H4n and Edirol R-09hr.  These house the mics, preamp, and recorder in one compact unit.  Prices are coming down, and they give decent quality for what you pay.

As you become more versed in recording you may eventually wish to move up to individual components for a better sound.

As for software, Audacity is a good place to start.  It is open source, and free.
