Please Help Me with Rachmaninoff!
on: January 05, 2014, 07:57:22 PM
Hey everyone!

I am 17, have just passed my grade 8 piano with distinction and want to play Rachmaninoff prelude in G minor opus 23 no.5. I know this piece is quite difficult but I really want to be able to master it and wondered if anyone can give me any advice please.

I have only been learning it for about two weeks, and it is coming on slowly, however the middle section is where I struggle, especially where the theme comes round for the second time if you get where I mean.

Thank you everyone!

Lewis

Hi,

I came across these wonderful (and wonderfully entertaining) tutorials by Paul Barton

There is another covering fingering at the end of the prelude that you should be able to find.
