Hello again everyone,

Here is a performance of one of my grade 8 pieces from memory, its not fantastic and I know where the mistakes are, but I would greatly appreciate some constructive feedback :)

Thanks everyone and I hope you enjoy!

You sound a bit like a car with no brakes going down a mountain.

Just aim for a more relaxed, graceful interpretation, and this will be very fine indeed!

Don't play quite so hasty. Feel how each and every phrase is juicy and delicious!

I love your vivid description!

Thank you for the feedback, I agree it was a little on the quick side! Ideally what I would like to do is record it on a steinway using proper equipment. Don't get me wrong, I am very appreciative to be able to have a baby grand piano in my house but its age means that it is quite unresponsive sometimes and difficult to control. If anyone has any suggestions on how I could do this I would be very grateful.

Thanks so much for feeding back to me :)

I think your piano is not helping you here. It has a harsh tone and is need of tuning. This piece was originally written, using an instrument, whose tuning was not much better I suppose. Haydn's piano would have been far less powerful though.

When we play Haydn sonatas on modern pianos, I think we have, above all to play in a very refined way -the dynamics have to be carefully graded. It helps if the piano is tuned perfectly.

When a search is in progress, something will be found.
