Typo in Beethoven sonata no. 3, mvt. 3
on: January 18, 2014, 02:44:18 PM
Hi,

I think I have a typo in the Scherzo of Beethoven's 3rd sonata but want to get confirmation if I can.

It's in bar 53, my music says I'm supposed to play an E# (F#,E#,F#) in the RH. There is an E flat in the LH. Earlier there is a similar passage where there is an E natural which seems right to me.

If anyone can let me know it would be greatly appreciated!

Whenever I wonder about my own score, I stop by imslp and check out the various editions.

Still no final word on mvt 1 of Hammerklavier...

But in your case, E# is correct, for sure. Voice leading and all that.
