Chopin's Contredanse
on: January 20, 2014, 08:30:45 PM
I've just started with this piece, and I've a question about the mordents in it. When there is two notes under the mordent sign, does it apply to both of the notes or just the upper one?
Thanks in advance!

Just the upper one, or more exactly, just the note immediately under the mordant.

New question!

Am I supposed to play these as arpeggiated chords? Cos there is no way I can stretch that far

I can reach the last two, but the first one. It is impossible :p

Two options - roll it as you suggest, or take the top note in the RH. I'd roll, but if you prefer it solid, RH is the way to go.
