Bach's two part invention C major
on: January 23, 2014, 07:35:39 AM
Hello everyone! My name is Steve, I have been playing the piano for some years now and I am largely selftaught. Unfortunately I have almost zero experience on performing, either on stage or in a small circle and can't afford a music teacher. That is why I would really like to have the opinion of others, especialy here where everyone is closely related to music and piano playing.
Tell me what you think!
Thanks in advance.

I am laughing with a warm smile here! :)

You played it okay/good. Was this recorded on a digital piano?

The thrills seem a bit off, but that's probably because you're using a digital, or whatever.

In any case; good job self taught. I'm pretty baffled over here. The way you played that invention.....You sound like a better pianist than me, and I do have a teacher.

Hello ranniks and thanks for your opinion.
I am playing this on a digital piano, but i don't think i would trill better on a real one. Unfortunately i have big hands and can't play those quick sparkling trills, my fingers are too slow for that, so I try at least to treat them like melody notes. But yes it sounds a bit strange.

Hello,

Neat and tidy with voices clearly distinguished. I think you may have outgrown your digital. Do you have access to an acoustic? I can't see why you wouldn't be able to do quick trills, as those ornaments you've played are very clear. I have to admit, I'm never quite sure what ornament sounds best in those first bars, and haven't settled on a particular mordant or trill as yet.
