There was one.  I think it got abused so Nils closed it.

It was kind of shallow for conversation there. 

It is possible to organize your own.  We did that for a while.

We had one on AIM.  Someone just made a room, posted the name, and people would set a time to meet in there.  Everyone had to have an AIM account to get in.

I wouldn't mind seeing it come back. Nils probably ends up policing it though.  And maintaining it for security.  That sounded like a pain.

I think it emphasizes the people more.  The level of conversation seemed a little shallower than the forum here.

The problem with chat rooms associated with message boards is that the conversation does seem different.  You also get people coming in a chat room trying to make trouble and that is not nice for others.  I do not see why we cannot have a chat room and make it purely for piano/music chat.  I am an AOL user so AIM  I have but even AOL chat rooms, people rarely stick to the topic of the room and for instance if there is a room entitled photography you go in expecting the people to talk about photography and all it is is men and women flirting with one another which is not the aim of the room
