Kawai K-3J feedback please?
on: February 05, 2014, 08:20:09 AM
https://www.kawai.net.au/upright-pianos-k-series/k-3-upright-piano

I'm currently looking at getting one of these. I have no choice but to get an upright and there's a few still new that are on special in my local area at a reduced price.

I'm aware that it's 122cm so not a full size so it won't get the full sonority of say a K-6 or something at 130+ cm height alla:

But that is way out of my price range at the moment. Anyone played/own Kawai?

Concerns/thoughts/feedback. This would be to get me through my studies for the near future.

It's a good quality piano. The big deal is if it fits you personally, you should feel comfortable at it and want to play it. If it has the tone and action that makes you want to play it then it's the best piano for you. But quality, workmanship etc. shouldn't be an issue.
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.

The tone sounded better than my digital and the touch was quite firm which I like :)

2 apparently sold of the original 4 in stock so I need to make my decision soon.

Did you enjoy sitting at it, have the desire to play on it ? Can you visualize owning it for the next several years ? If so, then buy it.

Piano Street Magazine:
Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
