Just got assigned some new rep!
on: February 05, 2014, 10:37:05 PM
After rounding out Book I of Mendelssohn's songs without words and the Mozart K. 283 (Piano Sonata #6), as well as a couple of preludes and fugues from Bach's WTC I last month, I'm beginning work on Beethoven's Funeral March Sonata, Op. 26 and the Brahms Op. 79/2 rhapsody (especially exciting since I did 79/1 a few years ago and adored it). Probably going to tackle the Op. 2 set of Beethoven next...

Can't wait to share my progress with you guys. For those of you who don't know, I am currently in a gap year before starting at Columbia University this fall; I am using the time to study piano extensively and intensively (I have been playing since I was 5), as well as finish up some composition projects I wasn't able to finish last year. This site is a great source of knowledge and inspiration for me. Thank you all.
Currently Studying: Bach P&F 1 and 2 from WTC I, Mozart Sonata #6, Book I of Mendelssohn's Songs Without Words, and Beethoven's Sonata No. 13

I'm sorry, but is there a question you want answered or something? I'm wondering if you needed to start a new thread to just tell us what you're doing.

My apologies. I had meant to ask a question but neglected to do so at the bottom of my post. What is the general consensus on differing tempi per variation in the first movement of the Beethoven? They seem to flow together naturally when played as a continuous set at a rather steady tempo but some people seem to prefer breaking them up.
Currently Studying: Bach P&F 1 and 2 from WTC I, Mozart Sonata #6, Book I of Mendelssohn's Songs Without Words, and Beethoven's Sonata No. 13
