Samson Francois' Pedaling in Arabesque I (DeBussy)
on: February 15, 2014, 11:06:17 PM
I keep listening to this recording and trying to play (Arabesque I) the way he is playing it, this is within just the first few measures. I can't quite figure out how he is doing it. It sounds like he isn't pedaling at all when playing the triplets in the right hand but in the left it sounds like he's pedaling.  What the hell is he doing to make it sound as if he both is and isn't pedaling?  Is he pedaling to start then stopping as the right hand comes in or?

Could you post a link to the recording? It's hard to tell if you can't listen. Maybe he is just holding down the left hand notes with his fingers?
