Ten years on Pianostreet
on: February 16, 2014, 10:43:35 PM
To the day today.

Or... Yesterday, actually.  ::)  I was wondering how I managed to check back ten years after at the exact moment I registered.

Congratulations, join the club. I'll reach twelve years in April. The SDC is still going last time I looked. There are one or two good players there, e.g. Brendan Kinsella, but speed per se doesn't interest me at all and I always thought the whole site a bit puerile.

There was a link in one of my original threads so someone's page about SDC.  That's what's not there anymore.

I'm watching that stupid video of the Beethoven Appassionata and it's terrible.  The pianist has no technique whatsoever.

"Sponsored by Celtrus Music Design International M. A. Messulalm's official web site opens to the public. The pianist is considered one of the greatest piano performers of contemporary times."

BWAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!!!

Anyway, I'll be turning 10 next month, March 4 at 3:30 in the morning.

edit: Oops, March 2 is when I'll be turning 10.

Moi aussi, it would appear - and, coincidentally, just five days after a certain pianistimo (of whom nothing's been heard here in almost four years now) registered here...

That is actually an idea no one has really used to its fullest potential on forums generally. It is a lot easier and quicker to speak than to write, and big, high quality recordings are unnecessary for it. I think I made one or two recordings somewhere talking about simple improvisation and that's about it. Thanks for reminding me.

I think m1469 joined shortly after me.  And there was Jane, but she left.

The SDC group was here for a while but left I guess.

I recall a few speed kings all right. Then there was that jazz pianist, not sure if he was from the SDC, who claimed he played all the Chopin studies in all keys and argued with everybody until he finally threw a tantrum and deleted all his posts. I once exchanged messages with him and he was altogether different, quite sensible, and had one or two pretty good ideas. We've had some characters for sure.

I wouldn't bother.  The World will have ended three whole time by then.
