Sounded pretty good.I thought it could have used a bit more interpretation and feeling though. Also some of the faster parts could use a bit of work in accuracy. But very good job otherwise.
Pieces in progress: Brahms Rhapsody in G Minor, Rachmaninoff Elégie in E♭ Minor, Bach English Suite No. 2 in A Minor, Chopin Nocturne No. 13 in C Minor

Overall very nice, clean. I like your endings of many phrases, nice touch. I wanted to hear more big crescendos! Can be more exciting with this. I prefer more pedal as well. Thanks for sharing.

Well played! Good style developing!

Rhythmic precision wasn't quite there in the difficult spots.

The quality of legato could be better. Sometimes notes are too short and the sound is abrupt or lacking sufficient mass. Be careful with cutting the sound off 'unrealistically' with the dampers. Think how an orchestra has no dampers, so when they play staccato, the sound still rings in the hall!

I think it would be nice if certain places were more controlled and other places were more free.

Sounding good though. You've done some fine work.

Hello,

First off I think this is a good recording. I would give you probably a 6/10 though and I'll explain why. But first let me share what I liked in this recording.

1. This is an early Beethoven Sonata (6 I think) which means he is still in the late classical era. This piece sounds a bit more like Mozart then Beethven in some sections. These sections you played cleanly and it did come across as Mozart.

2. Clean, clear, and few mistakes.

Now here are some suggestions that I think would make your performance stronger.

1. You need to work on your legato phrases. Some places it's good to have short notes but you did this throughout the entire piece. This is Beethoven, not Mozart. Use the sus pedal more but keep in mind to lift pedal frequently to avoid messy overlaps of notes.

2. This is what I like to call "taking and giving time" also know as robatto. You can slow down just a tab and then speed up just a tab here and there. You still want to stay close to persistant tempo but you have a little room around the tempo to work with too.

3. I think you need to understand Beethoven more and where he is coming from. He had a lot of emotional problems. What I mean is that he tends to go from stormy to light and then back to stormy and then even more stormy... etc. Understand the color of the sections and play them. It just sounds too straight forward right now (could be the recording or the piano).

Always remember... judges wants to hear something unique and memorable about your playing. They want to hear a voice so make your recording special! Honestly, I've heard quite a few recordings that sounded just like yours.

Hope this helps and feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Thank you so much for all these valuable suggestions . By now ,I do just as the teacher told me to do,and I will definitely add more of my own interpretations later. But that will be when I play more works of Beethoven ,I think.  By now ,if I add my own stuff, I am afraid to make the whole picture too"romantic"for beethoven. But I will begin the legato phrases u mentioned.
Could you by the way listen to the other two movement that I posted if you have some time ,and give me your advice. Thanks at first.

Thanks man, the problem of the abrupt cut of sound is really a main problem as I listen to my recording my self. I will study on it seriously. Thanks. Could you by the way listen to the other two movement that I posted if you have some time ,and give me your advice. Thanks at first.
