I'm thinking Palpatine.  He's better at organizing the whole galaxy toward one purpose.

Voldemort's doing the same, but he's got a lot less people to work with.

Kahn.  He'd get caught eventually.

Magneto.  Same thing.  Caught eventually.  Or...

Joker.  Too complicated plans for his 'unplanned' plans.  Those won't work.  Easy enough to knock off at some point.  Or...

Palpatine could just send the Death Star out to blowup their whole planet.  Magnet, Joker... Just blow the whole planet up.  Problem solved.

Forgot Sauron.  Probably the same thing, except it's a different universe essentially.  Sauron doesn't do much himself though.  More of an influencer.  And he's got a huge amount of patience.  He could wait around for thousands of years.  And he's a demi-god or something.  But still... All that and he's still easily tricked.

So I'd go with Palpatine and then have him go legit.  Rule with an iron fist.  Get a little more loyalty going.  Not keep killing off his right hand guy all the time.  Maybe get a team of them going.  He did bring peace to their whole galaxy eventually.  Blew up a planet, but that could have been avoided.  That was a waste.

I have now Googled and learned my lesson :)

Well, I did READ Lord of The Rings when I was like 10...that is some decades ago, so could not name hardly any charachter...I know who Joker is but never bothered to watch any of the films...I know Magneto from the comics but films like X-men are not something I would watch. Never really liked Star Trek (did watch the original as a kid) enough to remember any names and never finished even the first Star Wars movie...Not the kind of "Scifi" I care for...

And Harry Potter? Shivers...which reminds me of a movie I did watch :)

Isn't the Lord of the Rings a little dry for a ten-year-old?

I remember liking it very much, so I must have been a dry 10 year old... Besides I read almost anything those days...

I can't say I'm a huge fantasy fan. Even Sci-Fi I have a hard time with. Everything needs to be logical like:
Why can't Sauron move?
Why don't Orcs ride Nasgool (spelling), instead of just the wicked ghosts?
Couldn't professor Snape just identify himself as a good guy in the first place?
If Kahn is such an intelligent being why didn't he kill Captain Kirk in the first place?
Why did the Rebel Alliance let the Empire rebuild the death star in the first place?

All these are thoughts that make movies less enjoyable for me. The worst ones are WW2 movies that don't accurately depict soldiers, such as: every German carries a SMG (Sub-machine-guns), American soldiers are not depicted with M1 Garands but British LeeEnfields things like that. (Please forgive the gun terminology, I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to weapons.) ;)
