Hi there,
In the scherzo of Beethovens op 30 no 3, Scherzo, as from bar 51 left hand I have a problem.
It's a sequence a passage of alternating 3rds and 4ths, whereby 1 finger is common for both, let us say the 3rd.
Raising 1st and 3rd for the first 3rd chord immediately followed by pressin 3rd and 5th for the second chord.
I am not comfortable with the function of the 3rd finger working in both chords. It is like 1 note played by 2nd and 3rd finger in repetition.
Here 3rd is kept for both, raising and pressing of this 3rd finger in both chords leads to bottlenecks.

I hope you understand me.
Beethoven also uses such passages in another sonata.
Does it ring a bell anywhere. Thank you

Opus 30 No 3 is his eighth Violin Sonata. I can't see the passage you describe in the piano part, and no Scherzo movement anyway.  His 30th Piano Sonata is likewise scherzo free.  Can you clarify the piece you mean?

Ok, now I can see where you are talking about.  :D

You don't have to repeat the 3 on that note if it's giving you problems. Try 35-12-35-12.

Check out the suggested fingering in different editions on IMSLP if you don't like the one given in your book and don't feel confident coming up with your own.
