This ad is talking about wrist splints. Wrist splints are highly effective in cases of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. In fact, many pianists use them (at least many of those who did not pay attention to avoid getting CTS in the first place).

I have personally acquired CTS because of a strange sleeping habit (hand tucked under chin). Wearing the splints and changing those habits has cured it practically completely. So, it's no scam, but just good treatment. In fact, it's the first thing doctors prescribe.

Do you know if there other place where to buy this stuffso I can compare price?
How did you spend for your wrist splint?
It says it can be effective even for tendonitis even if there's no CTS
I've the same problem with strange slleping habit, hands under the pillow squashed under hand weight
In the morning is like someone is putting nails on my whole arm
The splint can be used when playing or not?

Thanks again

There are all kinds of splints available. They do restrict the movement around the joints to varying degrees. I would recommend talking to a hand specialist to get the correct type.

First of all, make sure that the diagnosis is correct before trying to treat it.  I had a bad case of tendinitus a few years ago because of poor technique, and had to learn ways to move my arms and hands so that the tension is minimized.  The only way to treat tendinitus is to stop using (or abusing) the affected tendon, as it will not get better if you keep playing the piano with a technique that hurts the tendon.  I found that with my tendinitus, using splints made normal things bearable, but when the tendon is severely affected, using it at all (especially with piano) is agonizing, even with splints.  I'd get some professional advice from someone who specialized in occupational therapy for musicians, especially if they themselves are pianists.  That way, they can show the student a better technique to use that will allow the tendon to heal and not become inflamed again.

Any good hospital should have a hand specialist, particularly University hospitals and Medical Schools. You need to see an orthopedic surgeon. Some general practicioners may be able to help too, but I'd recommend a specialist.

I can't and don't want to say anything about any products, because I don't feel comfortable dispensing advice on what medical contraption to purchase.
