VIDEO: 2 short Improvs. (preludes)
on: March 22, 2014, 02:45:13 AM
In honor of Mussorgsky's Birthday and his "Pictures at an Exhibition" pieces for piano, here are two improvisations based on paintings.

Improv 1,  Levitan's Evening at Volga

Improv 2, Monet's Misty Morning on the Seine

Very beautiful, with some effective phrases and changes. My only complaint is that they are too short; I can take a lot more of this sort of improvisation.

Beautiful works...bravo man...really enjoyed it! Do you happen to have some sheets?

Not only do i really like it, but unlike so many others on this forum, you actually played it with your own hands! None of that computer automaton-composed crap, and because of that your compositions are really authentic. Well done man!

I detect the influence of late Chopin Nocturnes   ;)

Well played, though.

;) definitely! The first one is a kind of a response to his nocturne in the same key.

I don't have sheets for these  :-\.  I have a few other pieces that I've written up, maybe I'll post them soon. I am starting to write more but the process takes so much time for me.

Ah, I have trouble with longer improvisations.  I feel like I'll run out of things to "say".  And it's definitely harder to keep things cohesive and musically interesting.
