They're doing a new movie WHAT THE HECK!!!

I've seen every godzilla movie since freaking 54!  I may not remember them all, but I know I've seen them all.

This better be good.

Cause in terms of acting and special effects, they all pretty much sucked.  But they're soo good!

It will be interesting to see what scientific reason they will come up with this time. I bet it will have to do with a cloning experiment gone awry. My favorite Godzilla movie was Godzilla vs Gargantua - Godzilla got to play a hero

If you watch a Godzilla movie for the plot and the action, you're missing a huge component of the appeal.

These reflect the cultural Zeitgeist of a nation (just as the US creature features produced in the 50s do).

They are all "message" films, sometimes rather heavy handedly so.

Some of the earlier ones were born out of nuclear terror, and express it quite well.  Some of the later ones reflect a growing sensitivity to environmental concerns. 

I suspect Hollywood will miss the message and focus on special effects.  Hope not though.

I enjoyed Godzilla throughout my childhood.  My brother used to watch it a lot, as well as my cousin, and I loved watching it with them.  It was always entertaining to me, too.  I haven't seen it in quite awhile though, and I'm not sure I'll make a point to do so anytime in the near future.
