faulty's guide: new dimensions in Octaves
on: March 31, 2014, 08:00:48 PM
In addition to all the discussed movements involved in octave playing, I'd like to add these two movements which will make it even easier.

1. The Pinch - to depress the keys, pinch together the 1-5, 1-4, and 1-3 fingers.  This movement is in addition to the other discussed movements.

2. The Rock - for single or repeated octaves, the arm rocks forward at the shoulder thereby changing the angle of attack.  This movement is a superior substitution to the "gravity drop" and allows punching of the arm to increase speed and thus loudness.
