New website :) Comments?
on: April 02, 2014, 09:30:27 PM
...yes, shameless self-promotion again, but I had a friend make a new website for me, welcome to have a look! Any feedback is very welcome.

...it's still being updated, and more recordings should be up in a not too distant future, I hope...Basically the design will be the same (in the nearest future at least) but a whole bunch of things will be added to the site as time allows. Im already told there are a bunch of spelling mistakes, gah..

Looks good.

Two quibbles:

Your Repertoire section appears to only list Concerti, and I happen to know you play more than that.

The date order in the Concerts section is a little quirky.  Years are newest to oldest (top to bottom), but months are oldest to newest.

Thanks for commenting! Indeed I play plenty of chamber music, solo repertoire, lied, ensemble works etc etc, but I just havent had the time for compiling a list, and I wonder if it's so meaningful in the end. I might extend to adding the solo repertoire later on, but it's somewhat complicated - there is plenty of solo rep that I played once in concert, say, five years ago, and never touched since then. I know it's nothing wrong putting it in my repertoire anyways, but with pieces I played so long ago, I feel it's almost easier to learn something new than to bring something so old back to life again...(at least if you need to undo mistakes you did the first time you learned it) With concerti on the other hand, you get chances to play them more rarely, and it's more of a big event, so they tend to stick with me more easily.

Thanks for mentioning about the concerts section - I might simply put years in separate links/pages or something, when I find time. Next, I'm planning to put up a media player with various live recordings - by next week, hopefully!

That top pic is always in the way.  i have to scroll down.

Youtube videos were black boxes. They didn't appear right away.

Youtube videos need some titles.  i clicked on, but i'm not sure exactly what it is now.

It's kind of tall/scrolly.  I always have to scroll down.

The contact page... It's just your email.

I'm getting annoyed with that top pic.  I always have to scroll down.

Maybe put 'videos' instead of 'watch.'  i don't want to just watch.  I want to hear it too.

The concert schedule is good.  I clicked on it expecting one or two concerts.  Nope...

Hmm, I guess I understand the point, but are you perhaps checking the webpage via a small laptop (or mobile)? I see a fairly large chunk of text below the image on my computer, without doing any scrolling. Has scrolling ever killed anyone, by the way? The contact page - I don't see anything unusual with having email alone there, I see no reason for having my private adress there! A phone number - possibly.
I think it's rather obvious with a musicians page, that "watch" refers to videos, which indeed do have sound...

Some updates have been made, for anyone that is interested! A media player, so far with various snippets of concerti performances, and a few other things. More coming soon, let me know what you think!
