Prokofiev Etude No. 1 / D minor
on: April 08, 2014, 06:10:33 PM
I want to learn Prokovief's Etude No. 1. Anyone would be willing to offer their advice in approach and attack? I suspect that is an 'in and out' of the hand if that makes sense.

What passage(s) are you referring to about the "in and out"?  In and out of the forearm?

It's a cool sounding piece.  First I've ever heard of it.

If you mean in and out of the arm there really isn't much since you have two or more notes playing everywhere which usually involve the thumb. So you're in most of the time.
Clementi, Piano Sonata in G Minor, No. 3, op. 10
W. A. Mozart, Sonata for Piano Four-Hands in F Major, K. 497
Beethoven, Piano Concerto, No. 2, op. 19
