Nice work!
I played this in college (not too well) and was surprised to find out that it's the leaps that slowed me down, not the repeating octaves.
Holding the last chord down too long feels too sympathetic to me, I usually leave it cold and short, it's more desolate that way.
Let me know if you ever want to try my left-hand-only arrangement!
