Period of music (Beethoven and Schubert)
on: May 03, 2014, 06:56:29 AM
Hi guys,

Can anyone enlighten me as to whether Beethoven's and Schubert's pieces are distinct in period (e.g. Beethoven's "Tempest" and Schubert's D784 Sonata)?

Thanks!!!
Working on:
Beethoven Sonata op31 no2 'Tempest'
Schubert Sonata D784
Chopin Ballade no1
Chopin Scherzo no2

According to IMSLP, Beethoven Sonata no. 17 was composed in 1801-1802 and published in 1802.

Schubert's sonata no. 14 was composed in 1823.

It's not clear what you mean when you ask "whether Beethoven's and Schubert's pieces are distinct in period."

Could you rephrase the question?
