Ariel,

Bravo! This is the most powerful and sophisticated playing I have heard from you so far.
Good understanding of rubato and nuance, coupled with some pretty fabulous execution.

My only criticism, and this is quite subjective and personal, is of the ending. In bar 250, I think we need even more tone to convey 'ff'.

I don't like the rit. in bar 252 and bar 253. There is no rit. in my score!

From bar 254 to the end it sounds to me like you haven't quite developed enough momentum yet, and the musical feeling of the ending felt a bit stilted. Do you really wish for bar 254 to be in a completely slower tempo than bars 242-248 (which I thought you played excellently!)?

Anyway, congratulations on a wonderful performance of an exceedingly difficult piece of music!

Introduction is too slow.  Dwelling way too much on the notes so the music is not coming through and does not match the opening subject line.  Sounds like different pieces spliced together = lacks musical uniformity.

Melodically, lacks shape; i.e. rising melody should get louder, descending should get softer.

Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
