How to exercise fifth and fourth finger daily in order to achieve dexterity in thrills in pieces such as La Campanella or the first Liebestraum?

How big is your hand? Can you manage said trills with 3 and 5? 3 and 5 is muuuuuuch easier than 4 and 5 if you can't manage 3 5 then just work your trills daily at varying speeds. I like to put the metronome on and start with quarter notes then go to eighth then triplets then 16ths then 32nds I do this for each set of fingers.
Just here to lurk and cringe at my old posts now.

There's only so much you should do with the fingers in those passages you refer to.  The rest is of the movements to aide in the articulation of the fingers should be done with the rotation of the forearm and the wrist door-knocking or wrist dropping motion.  If you combine all three of these motions, it requires significantly less effort and muscular energy.

Also, 3-5 may be better fingering than 4-5.
