''Grande Valse Brillante'' E-flat major Project
on: June 01, 2014, 03:09:42 PM
Hi,
In around 1 year or less (possible in May 2015) I am going to play Chopin's ''Grande Valse Brillante'' E-flat major. Right now, I am in zero point, which that means I don't have read or at least try to play it, I have just listened the piece in the past.
I have the piano sheets and what impacts me is that there are 9 pages to learn and it is in vivace mode.
In the past I played Chopin's "Minute Waltz", 2 Nocturnes and another Waltz.
This is what I have played this year:
- Inventions 4 and 10 Bach
- Valse 69 no 2 Chopin
- Sonata Facile Mozart
- Arabesque no 1 Debussy
- Valse Poetico Villanueva
I am also planning in learning a Beethoven's Sonata, learning another Chopin's waltz in A minor, starting Invention 13 of Bach.
I know that my playing is faulty and that if I want to learn in a rush time, the piece will not be learned properly.
What I have learned, and it took me too long to understand, is that I can divide the piece in short pieces and learn each week at least two bars. But my problem, and that's because of not "exercising" my hands, wrists and arms muscles, is to move them as if I was making them fly, less tense and more free.
Is there something you can recommend me?
