Introduction and question
on: June 04, 2014, 10:55:05 AM
Hi there! I'm Antonio, I'm from Italy and I have been studying classic piano for 5 years. I'm writing here because I haven't found the introduction section which usually exists in the other forums. I'm just an amateur and I don't want to become a professional pianist, also because I don't have the technique and the sensibility to do this. However, I think that a forum can be a good place to exchange opinions about music and to grow together not only artistically.

Since this isn't an introduction section, I use this post also to ask your opinion about a problem of mine. In the last years I've tried to play too complex music, like Chopin, and the results have been horrible. Now i want to start from the basis: Bach and Mozart. So, which is your suggestion to learn Bach's two voice inventions?

Even 'easy' Mozart is far from easy.  The Bach is a good idea - here's some help in choosing: https://www.henle.com/us/detail/index.html?Title=Two+Part+Inventions+BWV+772-786_169
B Mus, PGCE, DipABRSM

Always consider where the main voice is, the right hand, or the left hand - it changes constantly.

Definitely try playing Invention No. 13.
