Which piece should I learn next?
on: June 09, 2014, 06:08:25 AM
Hello.
Currently, my most challenging Chopin repertoire includes Op. 64 No. 1 and Op. 15 No. 2, both of which I have at performance level with no noticeable tension. (and certainly NEVER any pain)
My question is, what Chopin should I tackle next to advance my technique? I don't want to be stuck at a plateau. My ultimate goal with Chopin is to be able to play his late, great works, but I realize this will take time. I'm just wondering what a good next step would be.
Thanks,
mrudall

If set out to start learning entire sets of the smaller works ie whole op numbers , I would start to learn all of the mazurkas I think there 64 of them, that much volume will surely give you ample practice to hone your approach and musical approach before moving to larger scale works and by the. Having handle such large amount of his music the longer ones won't seem so bad
