Mendelssohn Etudes

How difficult are the Mendelssohn etudes (op. 104)? I love the no. 1, but I wasn't sure how difficult would be/how long it would take to learn?

The first and third études are listed as grade 9 on
www.pianosyllabus.com
if that's any help.
