STOP OPENING THE TOPICS....
on: June 10, 2014, 07:39:58 PM
I cannot stand to read another topic about "which piece is harder," "should I major in this or this," "is my life a waste!" It is absolutely, and completely unnecessary! Why do you have to ask us, complete strangers, questions that only a teacher can answer? Gosh!
Clementi, Piano Sonata in G Minor, No. 3, op. 10
W. A. Mozart, Sonata for Piano Four-Hands in F Major, K. 497
Beethoven, Piano Concerto, No. 2, op. 19

Sometimes people just want to converse without the expensive time of a teacher being used for something besides the lesson itself. Besides that we have teachers here too. Tid bits can help one align sometimes as well. If we can't talk about this or that here then it isn't much of a forum is it ? So put it out there and if it's deemed that one should ask their own teacher so be it. Meanwhile no harm done, but that's just my opinion. Probably as valid as anyone's, I mean I sometimes know if one piece is more difficult than another. And if not then doesn't the answer help me or others who don't know ? So someone asks a question, gets answers, we all read it. I'm just here for entertainment anyway, if I get serious I go practice, if I can help someone I do, if I get an answer I never thought of even asking about, wonderful for a spare time activity !! Why choke it off ?
Depressing the pedal on an out of tune acoustic piano and playing does not result in tonal color control or add interest, it's called obnoxious.

So, if you can't stand it,  don't read it.

You'll need this, then...
