Brahms’s Saint Anthony Variations
on: June 11, 2014, 12:26:07 PM
When this two-piano version was premiered, almost 150 years ago, it was played by Brahms and Clara Schumann.

Bravo!
I'm very glad to see you becoming involved with the duo repertoire. I would love to hear more. Do you do any duets as well, or mainly just 2 piano stuff?
I think there is more potential to blend the sound of the two instruments together smoothly without using pedal. Pedaling with 2 pianos is very tricky business, and in general, less is more.
The orchestral instruments which usually play much of the same repertoire that we hear on 2 pianos have no damper pedals, so it is important to keep this in mind when playing the same music.
